TERNA Faces of ROTARY Rotary FACE OF ROTARY: DR. DOUGLAS RAYNER If you have ever met Dr. Doug Rayner in any capacity or engaged with him on any level you quickly realize this is a man of great principle, dedicated to whatever job he is doing at the time; unrelenting, exacting to a fault, and a man who values tradition and respect above all else. That's only one reason why Doug Rayner has been a member of the Westerly Rotary Club for 50-plus years. He joined in part to honor his father, Fred Rayner, who was a charter member of the club when it was founded in 1958, but he never just sat back. From the beginning, Doug has taken command of a variety of projects, served twice as Club President, taken an active part in nearly every activity, and accomplished all this while for the last 40 years successfully heading up Summer Pops for the Chorus of Westerly. A well-respected obstetrician in town, Doug has delivered thousands of babies... and then went on to deliver their children and grandchildren before he retired! Not one to ever sit and relax, Doug's hobby is building things, specifically furniture, and his tables, chairs, and bookcases have literally raised thousands of dollars at the annual Rotary Scholarship Auction. Busy people always have time for service, people like Doug Rayner. Find out more about how you can give back as a Rotarian by calling (860) 917-8320. It'll be your BEST New Year's resolution! This generously paid for by The Wine Store... your partner in community service and with an owner who is a Rotarian! INT TERNA Faces of ROTARY Rotary FACE OF ROTARY: DR.
